Re: Christian Sailing Blog

Well, let's see...a blatant religious solicitation would be posting a link with a clearly religious identification leading one to a personal blog with some boat-related info and all kinds of ridiculous references to some invisible being you worship in the hope that others will blindly accept or at least tolerate such nonsense.

And no, it is not helpful to copy your blog entries and put them here.
For me these comments apply to secular and non-secular blogs.
Thanks for the response, Paul. Not trying to agitate but what is the "Off Topic" forum for? Here's what the owners of this site state: "This forum is for stories, jokes & other general topics. Off Topic content should still remain loosely related to boating."

I think I qualify.

Okay so looks like I'm in the correct forum. As the rules for this forum state: "This forum is for stories, jokes & other general topics. Off Topic content should still remain loosely related to boating."

Thanks

So you think it would be fine if everyone with a blog that is also a CF member posted a msg everytime they posted a blog? Sounds awfully self-centered to me. You have a public blog, let those that want to follow it, follow it. If you want to post here on CF, then post something with content (preferably not a repeat of your blog), not one line SPAM for your site. CF rule also say
Quote:
NO SPAM! Our user base is not a resource to be "mined" by individuals, groups, or businesses, for profit or not for profit

I don't view it as "self-centered". I see it as welcoming others into your world. I read the "Spam" rule as well and don't think I'm committing such as I don't have a profit/non-profit site or motive. Just sharing for other's entertainment/enjoyment.

However, I do agree with not posting a "one-liner". My apologies as I didn't consider this is how phishing is typically executed. Thanks.

"twisted"? Now that seems rather judgmental.

Everyone on this forum is looking for 'like minded' folk. There is nothing wrong with sharing in the brotherhood of ....well....anything. But as this is a sailing forum those here are looking for folks with sailing in common. Some are also husbands/wives, Christians/Pagans/Muslims/(whatever else is left), and even business types as well as hippies.

You would probably be better served by adding your blog to your signature...as some do...and let those of 'your feather' flock to you that way.

Re: Christian Sailing Blog

Mention anything on the internet and yer run the risk that someone will take the p#ss. With religion someone definately will!

The reason the religion threads get kyboshed on CF is because the anti-humanists tend to have thin skins. To be fair, a negative reaction does often seem to come as a surprise.
