Guess the sailing group here isn't impressed by Hollywood Sailing images.... Advertisement that is....

I'll probably wait for it to show up at the $3/ movie $11/Movie and a Dinner night. at the local Brew Pub.

Thank goodness the ads here have stopped. They were making me ill because even without the bad reviews I knew the movie had to be a stinker.

There are very few sailing movies I consider worth seeing. A partial list:

Knife in The Water.... superb, my favorite by far. If you can find a copy anywhere it is a must see.

Knife in the Water (1962)

Dead Calm.... pretty good. Very early Nicole Kidman and lots of good camera work on a gorgeous cruiser.

Dead Calm (1989)

Overboard... the drama with Cliff Robertson and Angie Dickinson. Good adaptation of an an excellent novel. One of the few good sailing movies out of Hollywood, and a TV movie at that.

Overboard (1978) (TV)

And then there are the classics, like Mutiny on The Bounty and Master and Commander.

I took a pass because all the warning signs were there. I mean, when it seems a little goofy from a 60 second tv spot, what's the movie like? Unkown stars. Heavy rotation on the ads.

A triumvirate of bad movie juju.
