My wife renamed our 31 ericson while I was stranded in Fl for 2 weeks doing repairs to bring it back to TX. It was suppose to be a fast turn around trip but as boat deliveries go. She made an off handed comment about it and the name was changed. Our boat is now named "SOBB" (Son of a Bitchen Boat)
The real funny thing about it is before renaming the boat we had constant issues. After retuning to TX and changing the name no more problems. We think the boat likes the new name.

From NE Florida:

Back in the 1980s when I did some class racing, my two favorite Tartan 10's were "Her Mercedes" and "Blown Away."

My favorite from Race Week in Key West in the late 80s was a big red 50' class boat named "FUJIMO."

A discussion with the boat's tactician yielded the owner's thoughts: "F*** You Jane I'm Moving On."

I chartered a Gemini named AFTICA.
I had trouble on the radio because I kept remembering the name as ATFICA, ACTIFA, ATCIFTA. The wife was LOL and had to correct me.
I think it meant Another F***ing Toy I Can't Afford.
Dunno for sure though.

Send a message via AIM to Sea Ghost
USCG wouldn't approve

I work for the Department of Defense and wanted to call my boat "H20 Boarding," for Water Boarding the interrorigation technique. Also, some people found my idea to be a little insentavie.

We've been thnking of "Samsara" It's sanskrit for "wandering on", but if you place a dash above the 2nd "a", it means "eternal circle of suffering"...... Might have to get a removable dash.

Similar to "The Office" and Walter Cronkite's "Assignment" is "Church."

As in, "Where's Bob today?" "Oh, he's in Church."

I've long wanted to name a boat "Quiet Desperation."
As in, "I'm living a life of Quiet Desperation."
