Re: Catchy or Witty Boat Names

Used to be a smallish powerboat in Chicago. Had about 20 female names all crossed out on the transom.

Saw one in St. Thomas named "Caviar". The tender was "Roe Boat".
Thinking of renaming my newly acquired, rather elderly Swan "Dowager Queen", with the dinghy perhaps "teeny girl". With a tip of my hat to Frank Zappa, I haven't ruled out "Dinah Moe Hum".

And my ski boat was called Jackaroo when I bought it. Changed it to N/A...
Causes some fun with officials.

Re: Catchy or Witty Boat Names

Saw a rather plain and chubby cruising type powerboat the other day while out for a sail.

Re: Catchy or Witty Boat Names

we kept it simple with "Never Monday" with the dinghy as "T.G.I.F." we were amazed that the name wasn't already registered!

Dinah Moe Hum would be a great name.

Would be even better if you ended up cruising with a sister ship

Ohh... how bout a J-24 painted wasabi green and named "Little Green Rosetta" ?

Re: Catchy or Witty Boat Names

Dinah Moe Hum has been in the back of my mind for at least 30 years. I bounced it off a lady I know and she was horrified that I would consider besmirching my boat with such a low class name. Guess I'm just a low class guy.

Re: Catchy or Witty Boat Names

Hello Everybody,
the other day in the port of Benalmádena (Costa del Sol, Spain) I saw a perhaps 5 meter motor sport / fishing boat with a small cabin. It was called " A Malas Noches" ( To bad nights). Now, we thought, why would an owner give this kind of name to his boat. We came to the conclusion, that obviously he sleeps on his boat, the nights his wife chucks him out of the house!!!
All the best to you, your Christian Ho
