Blue Monday

Today (January 17/10) is "Blue Monday," evidently the most depressing day of the year, an idea coined in 2005 by psychologist Cliff Arnall (Univ. of Cardiff).

Blue Monday was devised using the following mathematical equation:

{[W + (D-d)] x TQ} ÷ M x Na

The model was broken down using six immediately identifiable factors; weather (W), debt (d), time since Christmas (T), time since failing our new year’s resolutions (Q), low motivational levels (M) and the feeling of a need to take action (Na).

Fats, on the subject ➥

University of Cardiff eh? That's the same place that the Mexican Physicist Miguel Acubierre was a PhD student when he wrote a paper showing that Star Trek style faster than light warp drives are theoretically possible.

Methinks there's a lot more than close harmony singing going on in those valleys.

We're Pat's fans too, plus we were sailing last week in the BVI and today was our first day back at work, so it definetely is true for us.

Not for the reasons they had though.

I definately felt the need to get some ,ore things done today. I call it the short day syndrome. I'm more productive during daylight hours and there isn't enough of them this time of year. It's getting better though. The sun is coming back to us northerners bit by bit

Oh and my hockey team lost last night.

Tell me about it, I had to get up at 10am to pickup a friend from the airport, THEN I was forced to sit in the sun drinking vodka and cokes until it got a bit chilly.

Sigh, it's a tough life......

Oh, boo hoo..you guys think you got it bad..it was 80 degrees here today, in LA! And SMOGGY..could hardly see the snow-capped mountains, from the marina. And, I had to use SUNSCREEN all weekend when I was puttering around on the boat. But the worst thing is that there's not a breath of air, so didn't even consider taking the boat out..would just have to motor around anyway. Oh well, somebody's gotta live like this, eh?
