Blackbeard's Anchor Recovered

BBC News - Pirate Blackbeard's 'anchor' retrieved off US coast

Recovered from the Queen Anne's revenge, the 2,200 pound fisherman's anchor was the smaller of two anchors located with the wreck off North Carolina coastline. It makes you wonder what Blackbeard would have contributed to an anchor discussion.

I'm guessing he would have said size matters! 2200 pounds!

Re: Blackbeard's Anchor Recovered

Really the secret to successful cruising is lots of swabbies to haul your 2200 pound anchor. You feed them hard tack and salt cod, keep them a little tipsy on cheap rum and dreams of maidens and riches over the horizon and when they get restless shove them over board. A quick press gang and your on your way again.
