Re: Are These People Cruising?
They mention how important getting a storm warning is in their latest post. What would or could they do with a storm warning? Batten down the hatches?
To much sugar is no doubt bad for you but bleeding fingers and welded together lips etc. might be too. I am left wondering how their efforts will have any effect on obesity in the US. Maybe lots of obese people and future obese people read obscure rowing blogs.

Re: Are These People Cruising?
This is one for the "everyone wants to be famous" pile.
Looking at some of the glamor shot photos its their way of getting their 15 minutes of fame with the hopes of landing a reality show.

Re: Are These People Cruising?
I now feel the need to eat more sugar, just to not be on the same side.

Re: Are These People Cruising?
Me too! I had to go get a Frappacino.
Another irony is that they've chosen Hawaii as their destination, best known for their sugar economy, which is now nearly gone, and their excessively sweet fruits and vegetables.
It's said that Diabetes was the number one killer of native Hawaiians in pre-contact days, and they did not get it from Ketchup and Coca Cola.

Re: Are These People Cruising?
"No peeking while I'm pooping! We have to keep the romance alive!'
The Brits have a great word for them - Wankers...
I want my 10 minutes back...
She - "Please send us email - we love to keep up with things back home"
He - "Please don't send us email. We have tiny bandwidth and I need weather gribs"
She - "Stewie made water! I'm gonna wash my hair!"
He - "I am totally dehydrated and pry my dry cracked lips apart in the morning"
She - "I am only eating salt and fat! - It's great!"
He - "My calves are disappearing, I am bloating, my fingernails are falling off. It's great!"
She - " I am tired so Stewie is rowing!"
He - "She is tired so I am rowing. But the divorce-o-meter is still reading zero! Yay!"
Wankers...

Not sure about the anchor, but I'd guess they need about 70,000 feet of chain to be sure of not dragging.

Re: Are These People Cruising?
They claim to be "rowing across the Pacific Ocean".
BS, they are rowing across about a third of the Pacific. Geographically as well as socially challenged.
Reminds me of the wealthy "adventurers" who ski to the South Pole. They neglect to mention they were dropped off by plane less than a hundred miles or so from the pole. Some 700+ miles closer than the real heroes.

Nah..... 10 metres of chain and 25 metres of line with anchor attached.
No need to reach the bottom...
That's why they call it a "Sea Anchor", right?

I took a quick look, sound off, and thought it was a toothpaste commercial.
