Anyone Know Where "Kai Nui" Went To ?

If I remember there was some argument so he left / his account got banned / deleted / drama.

Beyond all that, is he around somewhere on another forum? I really liked that guy.

He's definitely around, but I hesitate to link to where, as I'm afraid I might join him if I do. Keep looking.

I had a beer with Mark two weeks ago in St. Maarten. That guy is living the life, that's for sure. There have been too many great contributors on this forum that leave for poor reasons. I don't blame the mods as they do a typically thankless job. It would be nice to somehow reach out the the guys and get them back.

CF likes to shoot people on the quiet (in the hope that no one notices?). Individually not a problem, but collectively it does have an impact, albeit plusses as well as minuses to that approach.

Of course some commit Hari Kari from simply losing patience with nanny state style stupidity - should have seen what I drafted early this AM on the Woo peddling freebie refurb thread .

It's sort of endemic to forums and communities in general. The best content producers tend to have the strongest personalities and go figure those people piss people off or otherwise get ideological about issues.

I've had to force myself to shut my mouth a lot on here, not go back to threads, and delete some of my own replies, simply because I didn't want to stir up a bunch of drama.

It sort of sucks because "the community" doesn't really control the direction of this forum. The input from them is taken into account I'm sure but ultimately it's the typical benevolent dictator type of management where 80% of the time everything is great and if you don't like the other 20% you're free to leave.

It keeps the content on point though, which overall is pretty valuable.

It would be nice to get some of the solid people back. For every one experienced circumnavigator lost it seems like it's replaced by a dozen guys from the midwest trying to figure out the bow from the stern. There's nothing wrong with that of course and I always try to help (and get answers to my own questions), but those strong personalities with the sea time to back it up are sorely missed.

Re: anyone know where the user "Kai Nui" went to?

Hey folks! I am back. sort of...
I was completely blown away by the comments and really felt I should drop back in to say thank you.
All is well here. Boat is still under construction but sailing.
To dispel any rumors, I was not banned, I left. There was no drama and no argument. I had a different view on some important issues than other admins and no longer felt I could contribute at the same level I had in the past, so I left.
I do not have much time for forums these days but I will make an effort to drop in once in awhile.

A few on the internet, here and there. I may post a link to some video if I ever get done editing.

Kai Nui,

I'm a relative newbie here at CF, but if the above posters are a cross section of your friends, I'm sure I will enjoy your posts. Lets face it, a forum is only as good as the members who take the time and contribute.
