Whales know no borders,nor can they speak for themseleves.The collision could have been avoided if the guilty party had respected the whales right of way.Thanks to all the illegal fishing off our west coast, the ocean is pretty much empty(except for all the crap floating around.)Send them home ,to whale in their own waters.

It's probably not beyond the realm of possibility that the 'bat boat' was intentionally put in a position to be sacrificed if need be for the sake of publicity and donations. One wonders how killing 1000+ whales per season qualifies as 'research', unless you're researching running ships on whale oil instead of diesel. Neither side has clean hands in this fiasco.
