Annoyance
What annoys and frustrates me about these forums is that somebody pops up with a new thread and the good and the knowledgeable then give their advice/view etc. This carries on until all are exhausted and the original contributor then goes away to try something. This is all great but we NEVER hear back as to what (if anything) was successful. Am I alone in this frustration?

Re: Anoyance
I think you'll find this is a problem on any internet forum. Lots of incentive to post when you need an answer... very little incentive to post a follow up.

Re: Anoyance
What's even more annoying, is when someone asks a question, then many members spend time offering up thoughtful advice... only to be met with a negative, aggressive response from the original thread starter.
Another annoyance, is when the same thread starters keep beginning threads on the same subject as their previous threads. Like they're going to keep doing it over and over until they get the answers they're looking for.
But I think in general, most who post questions are thankful for the advice received from other members; I know I am.

Re: Anoyance
All You do is update thread you start once you have the answer. You do this on the rare chance someone uses the search feature for problem instead starting the question new for the nth time

Literacy is not a requirement for CF membership... or for being a cruiser.
But think of all the entertaining arguments that we would miss if everyone posted cogent and clearly written questions!

Re: Anoyance
't was in jest, mylords..., in jest!
(during years & years of highschool they plagued us with english orthography - which is quite counterintuitive to a kraut-speaker, u know! - & now, 45 years later I have to discover that in fact it's a very flexible subject...)

Re: Anoyance
This is very much like being a good doctor. When your treatments work, most of the time, the patients don't come back.

Actually, they do, providing you don't kill them; if you fail to help them, or you make their problems worse, they'll be back. I don't think much of the advice given on CF results in death.

Re: Anoyance
If anyone really wishes to get a post mortem after providing advise, just ask for it. Some OP's might think its not needed, wanted, or appreciated. So just set your expectation in your reply.
Anyway, helping others in need is its own reward, yes? Unless of course the person in need is really attractive, but that is another thread....
