Re: Anoyance

Well, in my case there's only two things on forums which I really don't like:

- advertising which is everywhere in net and Adblock isn't always helpful, I understand that advertisement is important for the owners of the certain resources but sometimes it's so annoying!

- limited sizes for avatars because sometimes I don't have enough small pics for certain forums and I don't like to see empty squares in my profile

- stupid recommendations like replies to a certain questions in topics, especially if they're not really connected with the topic

Re: Anoyance

I write too long, and sometimes about things I don't know enough about, but it is always sincere and well-intentioned. What I really appreciate is the occasional "thanks" using the "Thanks" button at the bottom of posts you are reading. You don't have to be the original poster to want to give thanks to someone who may have given you some insight on something, or, who was just being very helpful in general.

I wish more people would use this but I don't get bent out of shape if they don't. It can make my day though. What does annoy me though is the occasional "my way or the highway" response when the world is so varied and so many people are so creative in finding a workable solution to so many issues.

Becoming a CF Supporter will assist with both of those issues.
120x120 avatar instead of the standard 80x80 and you can hide the ads.

Also "Turn of Right Column" in User CP Options helps.

It's well worth the $15 p.a. to me.

I'm confused. What does this discussion have to do with bird watching?

Re: Annoyance

i LOVE grammar nazi ocd suffering no brainers and folks who refuse to understand their own inadequacies. quite frequent in these interweb sites. make me laugh and cackle hard. most entertaining.
and then there is the ever fatal political correctness. that will kill all the fun to ever be had.
the 2 things i find offensive are stupidity, repetitive, and idiocy. that also covers grammar nazis and ocd practiced as a lifestyle, which is how it seems in these irreverent errr irrelevant forums err fori. have nothing to offer??? bash the writing style and grammar modifications of someone else. but never never never add anything useful. only grammar nazi bs. most often the grammar nazi has no clue as to that of which is stated. they seemingly cannot manage reading simple sentences or understanding their own native language.
must be gender related. hah ahahahahaaha
it is a shame that some individuals donot have the ability to read and see the information included in the posts without a deep seated need to interpret the contents of said information posted to fit their own psychiatric and emotional needs. i have seen this often here in cf. the alleged readers seem to have a blind spot regarding the poster of info so as to render the info , to them, useless. is common in males with insecurity issues, however., per many years of observation, and not only in sailing, but all other aspects of life.
now, on to something even more irrelevant......

Double u, I don't even have your excuse, but if you persevere, you'll get better at proof-reading the difficult English. Between typographical errors and predictive word interference from computers, it must be very difficult, and I can see how it might try your patience.

It seems as if people who communicate with CF by smartphone are unable to create paragraphing, which makes their posts harder to read. It is another problem for which I do not believe there is a cure. However, if you quote such a statement to respond to it in a thread, once it is copied, you can edit it into paragraphs, and reply according to your creativity.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Annoyance

"orthography"? = is when my exterminator figures out the square footage of my yard for billing purposes right?.

Since stupidity and idiocy are really the same thing Zee actually listed just two items. Perhaps it was intended as an example of what she meant by repetitive.

Re: Annoyance

...tongue-in-cheek apparently is not to everybody's liking...
(takes a liitlt bit of humor to be able to stand getting "orthography-shamed" by a non-native-speaker)
maybe I should always add ...
