An attempt at my life as a boat

Monday afternoon saw a record in wind speed around here (Southern part of Denmark) 104 knots or 54 meters a second. The marina didn't look too good tuesday morning. Several boat had broken loose from their moorings and hit others. None sank but damages were substantial.
I own two small boats. One had the furler genoa torn to shreds. The other had already been taken out of tha water and moved for repairs. While waiting for the storm I fortified and moved the trailer to a more sheltered area and added support posts. A number of trees broke off or were uprooted. One trunk missed the stern of the boat by a couple of feet. Pure luck

Oh, wow!
It seems you copped it far harder than the UK did .

Carsten, how is your boat?

Re: An attempt at my life as a boat

we have been through 7 or more hurricanes in south fla -- so know how you feel - but you and your boat made it through -- and thet is good -- but a look at long range wx indicates you may get another blow soon -- so tie them up well and go home and hope for the best

just our thoughts and opinion

Next time drop any furled sail. Remove dodgers, etc. by the book.

Glad that tree missed your ship!

Re: An attempt at my life as a boat

Thanks. :-) Now I know barnakiel :-)
To be honest I have only had a furler for about a month. Didn't think about it. I just made sure all the lose stuff and the moorings were secured. I was in a bit of a hurry to get home before trees and tiles were all over the place. It is a write off, but the sail was not too good anyway.
