15 Years Here
Today marks my 15th year here and that time goes back to before I had ever even sailed. In this time I have made 19,022 posts counting this one, and over 500 threads and that got me thinking about how/if CF has changed. So I went back to the oldest threads and looked through them and that resulted in me evaluating my continued active participation. I noted that originally I used my real name till some posting made me question that. I noted members who were active and fun to post with, ones that were believable and knowledgeable, but who have just disappeared from the forum for unknown reasons. I could even identify a general time frame for when I changed in my posting tone and the direction of the forum changed a large disappearance of members. From that I came to conclusion that it is time for me to move on. So not an angry good bye, but a fade away.

Re: 15 Years Here
Don! You stripped almost all of the Rose color from my Rose colored shades!!! And I appreciate that.
I'll truly miss your budget reports as they've helped my planning more than anything else that I've found anywhere! And your product reviews. Your opinions on the places you've visited. Etc.
I didn't always agree with you on everything but I really respect that you put your opinions, thoughts, and feelings out there to share. So I'll miss the knowledge that you shared.
I wish you the best!

Re: 15 Years Here
Sailorboy, is there really a reason to just stop posting? I wonder if limiting your time on the forum would be better?
I don’t know you, but with friends there is never really a “good bye” it’s more of “see you later”

15 Years Here
I disagree with you on some things (mostly around finances), and I find you rather disagreeable some of the time. But I will still miss your contributions.
Sad would be too strong a term here, but CF will be poorer with your departure.
Fair winds.
ADD: At least CF is not alone. He's returning his membership card to SN as well. Apparently both forums have changed for the worse.

Re: 15 Years Here
It might not be apparent , but I have pulled back a bit from CF in the last 6 months, preceded by voluntarily staying out for December. This also coincides with a firmer hand from the mods on hot-button offtopic threads. All good, I say, and I've enjoyed the on-topic threads that much more.
So, I can't find fault with anyone choosing to move on; I can only point out that one can always choose what to read, and when to respond, and that pulling back without quitting is maybe the best of both worlds.
Fair winds, in any case.

Ugh. Sorry to see you go. I was really hoping that Brenda and I would catch up with you sometime in the future. Best of luck. Michael
