Re: Your favourite small purchase
One thing we did was put strips of solas grade reflective tape high up the mast. When returning to the boat after dark, esp in a crowded anchorage, reflective tape stands out a 1/4-1/2 mile away making picking out the boat easy. The reason I put it on high was while the hull might be shadowed by another boat masts are v visible.

Brazen - hey great idea!
How does it work with wind? Does it block a good bit?

Attached at the life lines.
Covered in a tarp.
Tarp comes down to top of lifelines.
Tarp grommets tied to life lines for additional security ,,holds well in strong wind.
Creates sun and weather protection for Dodger.
Tall enough to walk around the deck under it.
Aft Corners clip to allow easy ingress and egress to cockpit when in a Marina.
6 minutes for 2 people to put up or take down.
PVC Pipes stored in 4" ABS pipe lashed to the toe rail when not in use.
Someday will upgrade tarp to some UV stable fabric of some sort. Not gonna be cheap. but will look classier than a tarp.
Going on two years ...has paid for itself in added life to Full Dodger.
Blocks Sun, rain, and bird poop.

Could not find a 13" pizza stone to fit our Magna BBQ. So we bought a 15" Stone and cut it down.

C.S. Johnson Grab 'n Go Hook with Clamp-On Mount for boathook. Let’s me do a temporary tie up and releases easily by snagging the loop on the backside of the hook.

While I applaud the ingenuity, typing '13" pizza stone' into Amazon yielded dozens to choose from. I had wondered how well the stones would cut, as I was planning on doing the same to put one in the Force 10 (rectangular), but managed to find the correct fit, at 50% off no less. Haven't yet had a chance to try it out.

There was only one stone (15") on Grand Bahama and Amazon will not ship here.

Lazy over fed cats.... swap them out and cut down on the feeding. "Rat on the coachroof for 3 days", unbelievable, there's nothing excellent about those cats!!!

my cats do their jobs to earn their keep. being made ill by rats is not one of their jobs.
they show me where to apply irritation and all is back to wnl for them and us. apparently the stray coming here is one i used to feed, therefore, my friend/family. he followed up onthe nightly confined cats daily work successfully.
perfect litties, all. 2 mine 1 colony cat.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but it's very cool. Makes doing the waterline a joy.

Re: Your favourite small purchase
No question - the Fly shooter ($8) and the Bug-a-salt ($40). Available on Amazon. Besides clearing the boat of flying bugs it is astonishingly fun. And if you happen to have a 6-12 year old youngster aboard, they will happily spend the whole day on the "hunt" and declare it the best day ever.
I use the Fly shooter in the cabin as there's no salt to clean up - and like the Star Wars light saber it is an astonishingly "elegant" weapon - quiet, unexpected, and most deadly. The Bug-a-salt is ideal in the cockpit should a biting fly hitch a ride. You can dispatch him without leaving the helm - "Go ahead, make my day"
