I once bought one of those air-con units that you get from Wicks, and installed it in the boat. But it used so much electricity through the inverter, that I had to buy a genset to power it. The genset got so hot, that I had to buy a fan to cool it. All history now, I just have the fan left.

Well, I haven't had problems with gov. but you know you're a liveaboard when a bank wants some sort of 'fixed' utility bill, and you can't give them one.

they wouldn't take cell, or Sat. TV. they want power, water, sewer, garbage cuz everybody has that, right?

YMBALI- Winterizing means making sure your freshwater tanks are full, and system redundancy means three or more ways to heat the boat!

YMBALI- Your must-have winter appliance is a toss-up between a portable generator and a dehumidifier.

YMBALI- Your kids ask "Where are we?" when they wake up from a nap! This is also known as "Am I going to get seasick today?" when asked first thing in the morning. :P

YMBALI- Your family games are "Knot So Fast" and "Battleship" instead of Wii and XBox.

YMBALI- You shop online based on P.O. Box delivery.

YMBALI- Thanksgiving is Cornish game hens instead of turkey due to size constraints.

YMBAL with kids if- The forward head mysteriously becomes inoperable and locked just prior to Santa arriving for Christmas...

YMBAL with kids if- landlubbers watch in horror as your 3- and 5-year old kids climb and stand on the boom while you lazily read the latest sailing mag in the cockpit while tied to a municipal pier.

YMBALI- You wear flip-flops in the winter...to the showers.

YMBALI- LED's are so 5 years ago...

YMBALI- "inverting" on a sailboat isn't necessarily a bad thing!

In the winter I wear dive boots to the showers, I originally got them as "guest deck boots" but now use them to put on quickly in the middle of the night to go to the head.
