"Workshop Co-op"?

I have been thinking for a long time that it would be great if a few other liveaboards and myself could go in for a cooperative shop somewhere. I was thinking we could maybe rent a garage or something.

Has anyone here ever done any thing like this? Thoughts? Liability issues?

I would suggest that all involved pay up front for a year or more in advance, So you know when you have to move the stuff or lease it on your own, After a while things change and the moving party will not pay, and somebody will be stuck.
