Winters in Islamorada on a mooring

I just joined. I have a 05 Regal 2465 Commodore. I have been going to Islamorada for 35 years in the winter for two to three weeks and have always wanted to take my own boat there for the winter when I retire. Well I'm retired and it looks like renting a slip for three months isn't going to happen so I need any info I can get about setting a temporary mooring. Around 6,000 lb boat. I'm interested in the area behind the Lorelei mm82. Thanks.

Love Regal's....... Owned a Regal 2765 Commodore for about 12 years. Loved that boat.

Anyway, there are not many places to pick up a mooring in the Keys. Only places that come to mind are Boot Key Harbor in Marathon and Garrison Bight in Key West. Other than those, you will be on your own hook.
