Winter abord in Nova-Scotia

This young couple just fininished 3 years of renovation on a Bruce Roberts (steel) 36' sailboat. For winter in N.S.I thought of Halifax (NW ARM close to the rotary).Lunenburg and back harbour;La Have;Petpeswick.Any advice would be appreciated.
It has been done further north.

Re: Winter abord in Nova-Scotia

I just spent the winter at the RNSYS, and the arm froze thick enough to make dinghy access difficult at times. If they're working on land, try armdale YC, or RNSYS.

If not wanting a marina, and aren't working on land, then near the rotary works, or Dartmouth, near the yacht club.

If ice isn't an issue, then Lunenburg would be my second choice.

Cheers.
Paul.

In Dartmouth there is the Dartmouth Marina, downtown (near ferry) and the Dartmouth Yacht Club, in Bedford Bassin (Wright's Cove).Do you mean the latter? Thanks

Re: Winter abord in Nova-Scotia

We had friends that did it years ago in Armdale YC. They had no complaints, but they were pretty hardy souls. Good luck.
