Where are All the Americans?
We've been cruisng the caribbean since before christmas - came over on ARC+ and turn south. So we've been in St. Georges Town on Grenada and have made the turn and are now heading north.
We've been very surprised by how few Americans we have seen down here. We thought this was the US's backyard. We see lots of Canadians, Germans, Swedes, French - hell we even see more Danish boats than we do Americans.
Where are you all? You can't all be visiting Cuba

Re: Where are All the Americans?
For the next 8-10 years it will all be endless summer for us - if we want to see snow - we'll google it
by the way - came over on the ARC+ which you usually follow - we won the first leg in Class C

Ah... For what it's worth, an old saying (at least in the US) is "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.".

Re: Where are All the Americans?
In St. Martin right now and it may be true that there are fewer than in the past! The Canadians are always about but sure seems like even more this year

Re: Where are All the Americans?
Americans are in the USVI and the Bahamas.
St Martin there's some but its pretty multi-national. Further south there will be less, until Grenada.
Say hello when you get to St Martin

Re: Where are All the Americans?
The US boats do not come south, from the US, until the end of Hurricane season in November and the are still working their way 'down island.' many then return to the US in May never having reached Grenada.

Re: Where are All the Americans?
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of US boats are staying in US waters these days ... one never knows if one is allowed back into the US .....
