Re: What Work Ethic Works?

You need something to tinker with. I went through a no boat phase, but ended up with offroad toys and a trailer to tinker with.

Us engineer types--if we don't have something to be maintaining or upgrading we get restless!

Re: What Work Ethic Works?

This is what I call the call of the dark side. The apparent lightness of shore based life.

My shore based life was hell my boat life is less so.

You are right: get another boat!

Cheers,
b.

Well, I do still have my ketch. In addition, the move to shore from the boat for someone that has lived their entire adult life on the boat does provide some insight for those moving in the other direction.

....but you're right. This is another reason for me to buy another boat!

Hudson if you think about it you have a trawler at the dock that doesn't rock and where someone else does the hard maintenance.

Re: What Work Ethic Works?

Buy a 30 plus year old house that has not been renovated ever.
Make sure it has at least an acre of grass and a couple of dozen fruit trees plus gardens appropriately sized for the land and about three sheds full of stuff from the last two owners.Nearly forgot buy an older caravan that you want to upgrade and try to fit it in one of he sheds.
Much more time consuming than the upkeep on the boat. How do I know?
Just remembered I still have the boat too.

If Ms HF takes up gardening and landscaping your days will be filled.
