What Training and Certification Are Required to Be a Surveyor ?

What training and certification does one need to become a surveyor?

I am also looking for a recommendation on where/how to acquire the training.

It may depend on your State in the US. In NY State there is technically no certification required but it can help.

Go to work (apprentice) for an accredited surveyor. Take courses (ABYC & etc) & home study. In about 5 years (10,000 hours) you should qualified as a journeyman surveyor.
Join one of the accredation societies (& pass their test), previously listed.
