What are the microscopic aphid looking bugs that live in lazzarettes?

I have noticed these little micro critters aboard for the last 16 years, have been fairly few in numbers, so never thought much of it. Till today when girlfriend found one crawling on her while napping in aft cabin. What are these little mites? What's the best way to rid the boat of them?

Any suggestions will be most appreciated and help get gf back in my bunk again!

In the water?

Some sort of zooplankton possibly. Maybe a larger than typical copepod. Some zooplankton is visible to the naked eye. You will need to provide photos to get any more specific than that.

If they bother you a few drops of bleach would kill them.

Zooplankton doesn't usually crawl on you, I would go with the cootie theory. Anything small that crawls you is usually looking for a good place to bite.

Ok, so not in the water.

I would suggest a can of Raid then.

Of the estimated 900 million species of insects in the world many are very small and very few view us as a lunch. I think it's safe to say that, after all these years he's had them aboard, they haven't decided to take up eating humans.

Close it up with a big ozone generator for a few days.

You and her stay out. Her place?
