So, the website of St. Vincent says we want you to bring your
pets, but we have some rules you must abide by. To ensure you have your approval, we recommend that you start your admission paper
work 3 weeks before you arrive.
It took us 2 weeks to receive the
import papers and
permit to bring our
dogs into the country. A few days later, we were off to St. Vincent. With all vet papers and the approval form in hand, we arrived into the country.
The department of agriculture meets us at immigration and proceeds to review the paper
work. After reviewing the paper work our
dogs were denied entry!
The reason why we were denied is that our heart worm test, parasite test, and one other test i can't remember were greater than 7 days old (they where 21 days old since that was the time they requested it)
I said, but it takes 2 weeks to get approved and why did you not tell us that so we can run another test. Their reply... if you run another test, you have to go through the approval process over again. The approval process that took 2 weeks to do but must be done within 7 days.
They said that we can have a
government approved vet come to our
boat and perform the test on the
boat. They would accept that as well. Only problem, the country does not have any heart worm test kits (didn't know that was a thing). So, we are now trying to figure out what country we can take our dogs to with 21 day old vet
health certificate.
