Tunisia for the Winter

Is anyone on this forum in Tunisia right now? I'm thinking of heading to Monastir for the winter and would appreciate any advice or comments. I did a search on this and understand that it is not necessary to reserve? Is that true for a 9.5 m. boat? I heard that if you're 12 m. plus you definitely need to reserve but smaller you don't. When does winter begin in Tunisia? Is October too late to be crossing from Sicily or Sardinia? any advice would be welcome - thanks.

Great photos on your site! You've got a really good eye.

Tunisia's good weather extends right into Oct-Nov. In 2005, here were the weekly averages for the last week of November:

Weekly Summary TemperatureMaxAvgMin
Max Temperature.... 86 °F / 30 °C 80 °F / 26 °C 78 °F / 25 °C
Mean Temperature.. 78 °F / 25 °C 74 °F / 23 °C 72 °F / 22 °C
Min Temperature..... 71 °F / 21 °C 68 °F / 20 °C 66 °F / 18 °C

You can find historical averages at: http://www.wunderground.com/global/s...0.html#History

I've been in Tunisia in winter, and it's generally nice during the day, but gets a bit cold at night.

Sorry I can't help with the marina info.

Good luck, and keep the good pix coming!

Thanks Bill for the info and I'm happy that you like my photos. I'll have to catch up with the photos in winter - hard to find cheap internet connection to download them.
