Thirty Days 'til I'm Outta Here !

I've been pretty discouraged for the past month thinking I will never make it to the water. But today at 7AM my agent called and said we have an offer on the house! Not a low ball, not a flipper, someone with real credit and able to swing the loan with 20% down, at MY price. First she apologised for calling so early, she could have called at 3AM with that news!

I finally feel like this is happening again!

Re: 30 days till I'm outta here!

Zeehag,
Thanks! I would go down to see you but I'm going to the East Coast.

Mark,
I might make it to Grenada, but it won't be for a few years.

I, too, hope this all works right.

I feel as good as I did when I danced on the Wall, Nov 9, '89.

No boat yet, but I don't think buying one one the west coast just to sail it to the east coast is the thing to do.

Good luck! But dont get too happy until it's done!....I had 2 "qualified" buyers fall through last year but finally sold the house.... yeah, WE gave the banks a bunch of money and they just sit on it....instead of loaning it out!

Don't get me wrong, the trip would be fun. There are enough boats for sale on the east/gulf coast so that leaving out the west coast will not significantly reduce my choices. The trip would be a life's adventure for sure, but I don't have the time this year. Next year I have nothing but time.

Re: 30 days till I'm outta here!

29 days. Still a lot to do. New law says I need a CO detector, got it. I needed one outside each bedroom, all three bedroom doors are adjacent so one covers it all.

As far as the life time accumulation of junk, I have a charity that will take it all. I told them they would be getting some pretty good stuff but they could only take the good stuff if they took everything, they will clean out the house the day before closing. I know I could have spent dreadful days with yard sales and came away with a couple of hundred dollars, and then still have to fill multiple dumpsters. This way I not only get it all taken away but I get a tax deduction, too. I just have to assure them that the good stuff will still be here.

Thanks Mimsy. I am unsure of going to Kemah to start my search. I would like to be on Long Island the first week of September, with or without a boat. I am going to start my search up there and work my way down the coast. There is one boat that is on her way to NY right now that is in top shape and in my price range. I might just get my wish. Thanks for your help with that Pearson, it taught me a lot.
