Re: That little something that makes life easier

Our thermal cooker fired up while preparing breakfast provides a lovely hot prepared meal for lunch.

Although not small by any means, I also wouldn't be without our Hydrovane self-steering for any passage over 2 hours. It works exceptionally well, eliminates wear and tear on the autohelm and provides great piece of mind havind a speare rudder in the event our unprotected spade rudder is damaged...👍

Other than that and in no particular order:

Composting toilet

Cabin heater (sailing in the Baltic Sea)

Electric outboard and lithium battery for the dinghy

Shitload of solar panels

Ukulele

Trombone

Battery operated p.a. and karaoke files on my phone

Harmonica

Patient wife...

I leave the Conn 88H trombone at home. And the harmonicas and maracas and anc and .... And three of the banjos.
But one banjo, my wife’s Uke and a kazoo and some egg shakers? Definitely.

Re: That little something that makes life easier

Ditto on the thermal cooker. We have two, small and large. Much cheaper in SE Asia. Small for making yogurt and smaller dishes. Larger with two pots or one large for making bone broth and larger dishes to eat and freeze and potlucks or two dishes.
Bring it to a boil in fifteen minutes and cooks up to eight hours. Very stingy on the propane.

Re: That little something that makes life easier

A vast amount of refrigeration and the inverter, solar and battery to run it
A walk around king sized bed

Both essential to our cruising lifestyle and a deal breaker on any vessel without them.
Not exactly little things but the little things we can live without.
