Storm Coat Waterproofing

We had great luck with Marine Pool coats we bought in Germany. My Helle Hanson looks new but leaks like a sieve. I would appreciate experiences with anything which will or will not work to restore waterproofing.
Thanks in advance.
Happy trails to you.

Re: Storm Coat Waterproofing

Hiking / camping stores sell wash-in cleaner and re-waterproofer for "technical" clothing, i.e. Gore-tex and similar shells. It's worth a try - my experience is that it gives pretty good results for up to a year.

Re: Storm Coat Waterproofing

Thank you. I called an old mountaineering friend and he told me to try either the wash in stuff or the spray on but to first wash my jacket in no smell woolite so I guess the suggestions on the Helle Hanson web is correct. My wife’s jacket is spotless and repels water. Mine has never been washed and looks like it was previously the property of pigpen in the Peanuts cartoon. She makes me store it in the chain locker. The smell is a nice blend of oil, fish, sweat and snot. How will my manatee crew recognize me without it.
Thanks again. Happy trails to you
Mark and his bad breath manatee friends.
