Snail Mail Services

We are almost ready to move on board and arranging lots of those little (big) details. I know there are tons of people out there using St. Brennan's for their mail services, but for us changing to FL residents just doesn't work for a few reasons.

I have found "Traveling Mailbox" service which will give us a local address in North Carolina. Their services seem to be a good fit for us and really quite inexpensive at $15 per month.

Has anyone used their service? If so, what was your experience?

Many Thanks

Re: Snail Mail Services

You can use St. Brendan's Isle for mailing address and keep your residency elsewhere. We are doing that until February when we'll be able to change our residency to Florida.

The key is the difference between physical address and mailing address. In Maryland, my physical address is a dock that does not have mail service. My mailing address was in Virginia, now Florida - problem; mailing address must be in Maryland. I had Maryland mail my drivers license to a friends house. Its a hassle. My lady's Virginia drivers license mailing address must be in Virginia... so, it makes sense to have a mailing address in your residency state.

Cheers, RickG

Re: Snail Mail Services

I don't have experience with the service you asked about, but I do with SBI.

There is no Florida residency requirement in order to subscribe to SBI snail mail services... But they do offer assistance becomming Florida residents for those who may be interested...

We are Alaska residents and have been using SBI for years...

We are very happy with SBI's services. We really like their mail scanning [we rarely, if ever have to have anything forwarded...] And their marine discount service for sourcing parts worldwide can be a lifesaver if you are cruising in remote locations...

In case this is helpful...

Cheers! Bill

PS: See our page on this topic for more details if interested...
