Sounds like it may be like the one I have that is AC powered, but it had an external "brick" that said 12VDC on it, I was worried the the TV would only
work on exactly 12VDC and of course we are above that, but I wired it direct a year or so ago and it is fine with 14.3 VDC. Same thing with the Sony Blue Ray player, ran it direct too, TV was only
DVD and not Blue Ray, and we have a bunch of Blue Ray DVD's
So sometimes even an AC TV can be run off of DC.
My TV is a Signa or maybe insignia, something like that, I got it at Circuit City I think.
