Yes, and there's bos indicus, too, the Brahma cattle that are crossbred with other breeds to improve tick resistance.

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

I told my wife if we ever got divorced or she died I would never remarry.
She said it sounds like I had put a lot of thought into it.

So would it take this thread off topic if I were to ask what happened to the OP?
Did he indeed get that Uhaul outfitted like a first class pimp wagon? Did he get the cat fixed up? Is he neck deep in a bevy of 20 something hardbodies?

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

I Can totally relate to these stories in that I am in the same boat per say.
As one cruiser with a lot of experience told me

"Go small and carry Green Luggage"

Bigger boats are great for the room but considering moorage fees and the crew to handle them you are so far ahead if you go with a smaller seaworthy boat and bring enough money to enjoy yourself.

I know someone who followed this mantra and bough them selves a Norsea 27. As the worked their way down to Panama from San Diego they found affordable moorages everywhere they went and if they decided then needed to pamper themselves they booked a room in a hotel and used their amenities to wash their clothes, get cleaned up and enjoy the hotels amenities.

This threat is hilarious. I would love to find out how it ended 2 years later.

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

Real love is the willingness to extend yourself, do real work to help the other grow as a person, as in psychological / spiritual / emotional growth, choose your own label.

Acceptance of who they are, not trying to impose your will, help them get to who they want to become.

Ideally both reciprocating but not counting points.

None of which has IMO to do with sex or "happiness".

I don't believe in either partner being sexually "faithful", monogamy is a completely unrealistic and unfair expectation, but long-term polygamy also very difficult for most, work out your own "deal" that works for both.

'til death is nice if you can, but not the measure of success in a partnership.

The legal / financial contract of marriage is also an entirely separate issue.

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

I think few people, few cruising men too, are looking for the real love (paste your fave definition here).

I think sailing / cruising are far more a search for an adventure, for a change, for experiencing freedom from whatever we feel limits our ability to be what we think we are.

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

imho the statistical likelyhood of meeting a so-far-unconnected-with-sailing-woman between say 27 & 45 that will go cruising with you is ZERO, as in ZERO, ZILCH, NULL!
(it is not totally impossible, but the likelihood will show up in the 10th decimal, so zero, for all purposes) - if you want her to be attractive & appreciably younger than you - a waste of time.
exception: you 82 & decrepit & bigbucks!

I was curious about when 2hullvenus (our OP) last posted here on CF:

November of 2015.

We may never know his fate, alas!

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

on a non-ironic note: if, what is highly likely for a woman 27-45, she has a "life" & this does not include sailing: why would she want to be uprooted? the "life" probably includes children - she isn't even seriously considering a cruising life (which she knows nothing about to boot, apart that it's going to be on a yet-to-be-made-liveable boat) no matter how great you look & what irresistible genes you have on offer!
the only way I have seen women to go cruising was to form the emotional attachment FIRST & THEN go cruising with the bloke.
in my experience & perception the best chances to get a lady "away-from-it-all" is in the age-brackets 19-24 & >55
(caveat: all anecdotal evidence, no real statistics!)
