Mark
So disappointed, you are so far away.
Oh well, I don't think I meet the description of younger.

Although I am not sure what I want to be when I grow up?

Youth comes from inside. I look around at people my own age and think "wow, they seem like adults"..then I realize they are like 2 years older than I, at most..I don't think I will ever feel like a "grown man"..my body feels older, but my mind never has. Lol.

Many say I look younger than my actual age. I feel that it really is just a number. Anyone that judges a person by their age is shallow in my opinion.
Unless you are talking about a older individual thinking the maturity of a 20 yr old is equal to someone over 50. Now we are not dealing with reality. Life experiences is what forms maturity, it takes some years.

I am aging backwards..I started out "beyond my years" raising 3 kids by the time I was 21..so, now that they are adults I am young again (or for the first time). Lol.
You are correct about judging someone from a number..I have dated women 10 years younger and 10 years older than I..never considered the age to be a determining factor on what type of person they are..that is in the attitude and spirit of the person.

Understand the children, 4 at 21. Two in diapers, one inherited by marriage and one adopted from sister. Now I have my time. I was young enough to play, work and still have energy. Glad I did it before I understood what I was getting into. You either have your adventure before or after. Some are adventuring with children. I never had that ability as learned to sail after children in college.

Life is meant to be lived.

Well... this was ONE long thread.

"Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look"

Might have to merge this thread somehow with the one over here,
"how-much-say-do-women-really-have?"

We might be able to just figure it all out, eh?

Lots of very useful information can also be found on this thread that was running concurrently:

Duly noted.
I'm guilty for continuing the trend, but I DID notice a bit more silliness over at the other thread, vs. the one started by the women cruisers, in general.

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

it sounds like you bought into the dream, but time (age) and lack of money have combined to effectively stall you out before you were able to get there.

what's the point of the boat if you can't cross to the exotic places you want to see?
where's the dream (which appears to be nubile young lasses) if your boat is a mess and your age is preventing you from pulling.

you end up being a lonely middle aged guy living in a broke down palace. nothing exotic in that.

my advice for single men wanting to grow old gracefully is to MOVE EAST. sell the boat and move to asia. low cost of living, cheap accommodations and plenty of girls around. if you want to live on a boat there, more than easy.

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

single anyones--
if you have a boat--relocate it periodically . if you have any spirit of adventure you will enjoy it.
why be dependent on the imaginary mate you will never find by staying in one place.
get real.
you donot effect your alleged dreams, why torture someone else with your fail????
the point of life is to have FUN. if you are curmudgeonly sitting as a hermit in a cave you will never meet anyone, much less a proposed soulmate. get real. shake off your drudge and LIVE
you cannot share fail with anyone, nor will anyone enjoy the thought of living with a curmudgeon who exhibits sad and sorry attitude.
get over it and LIVE.
sheesh
then ye can find someone when you are happy and able to share that happy.
i have encountered so many males with drudgery and sadness who are allegedly seeking a partner or mate on board.
neither they nor you will find anyone that way. get over yourself and bloom.
easy peasy.

and you guys complain about the women who cannot lift skirt and sail-- try it yourself fist then figger out if you really want to hermit or if you really want to find a partner and go for it.
the ohpoorme attitude is ugly and disgusting and the men who practice it are whiners and foul to watch much less be with. sukitup and grow'
ye cannot be happy with another when you are unhappy with self.

some good advice there, also more than a bit of 'cat lady' mentality (per your profile)

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

cart lady?? sorry i have one cat to keep birdees and mousees of f my boat--he does well. he also lets me know when we have a leaky hose somewhere--he is a better companion than the male humans i have encountered on water--the males such as yourself who label folks without meeting them and then wonder why they cannot find partners or mates with whom to sail.
who wants to live with THAT attitude??.
no one i have yet encountered out here. we share similar views-- speak but shadap.
if you think of yourself as gods gift to women, you are NOT so. ha ha ha ha ha
i am dead tired of men who have the whiny oh pooor me attitude--cannot find a lady--recheck your woman hating attitude. it is obvious to us who are out here as single ladies sailing and cruising. my attitude is not that of a cat lover but that of an intelligent woman who is strong and independent of your whiny NEEDs

check your attitude and enjoy living
