Im still waiting to see what equality means to others. Its a phrase used all the time but rarely is there agreement on its definition...

To me equality is equal opportunitity for the shot to reach your potential and/or goals without interference from a third party (person, group or government).

ChiChi, I have never watched more than about 5 mins of any of the "dating" programs. They are far from the reality of dating in real life. For the women, perfect clothes, makeup artist, unreal house. Come on, if that was real life, I'd marry the guy. LOL
Then the "House", I suspect a lot goes on after the lights go out. Plus a lot of back stabbing too.
If folks like to watch that, that is their decision.... Gives them something to discuss at lunch with the "girls in the office."

Equal is a brand of artificial sweetener containing aspartame, acesulfame potassium, dextrose and maltodextrin....

Equal opportunity.
What you do with the opportunity is another story.

Olddan, that's great that you do not watch "dating" programs. i've honestly never seen one, been quite and very seriously boycotting TV since i was 17.

and i do not work in an office, so definitely do not have the problem of trying to figure out what to talk about with "the girls"... most of my girlfriends are sailors, so that changes the don as well... we swap stories of the time we peed in the bucket, stuff like that...

i live on a different planet. thanks for kindly pointing this out.

i concur.

besides striving to be equals doesn't make any sense when we are much more productive when we are cooperatively complementary, no matter which brings which strength.

There's a whole lot of Pseudo Psycho Babble out there that passes as wisdom from so called guru's like..
"A person is but half a circle.. for a rich life one must find the other half and become the whole.."
To me this is just a way to justify neediness.. first the guru needs an audience.. second you need the guru to prop you up and justify your neediness..
To be Equal one needs to be a Whole Circle in ones self and not feel compelled to seek emotional bondage to another so as to be a 'Whole Person'..
Half a circle joining another half is not becoming Whole.. its a dependency.
We are each responsible for our own current situation.. 'Reasons' for being/staying are merely excuse's for one's lack of courage/belief in oneself.. which brings one to another bit of justification Babble..
" Better the Devil you know than the one you do not"

You'll probably need a Facebook account to open it, but if you're in the UK, you can probably go to the Daily Mash site instead.
Oh the Brits know how to make us laugh! loved it Gamayun! thanks for sharing!

Weavis, did you see this testimony supporting your point about women being romantics?

Re: Single Men Living Aboard and Cruising... an honest look.

I read the results from a poll done by one of the dating sites a couple years ago. I haven't seen any verification so take this with a grain of salt.

The women polled listed their biggest fear going out on a blind date was that the man would kill them.

The men polled listed their biggest fear was that the woman would be fat.

If those results are true, we are still a long distance from equality.

I can't think of single activity where death was a top 5 concern, let alone the top that I would consider doing it. And I consider myself pretty high on the risk-friendly side of things. If your top fear is dying why would you even be on a dating site (just write off dating as a non-happening thing).
