Salvaged parts in Florida
I've been putting off posting this because it seems goulish, but here goes. (I've got my Nomex skivvys on, just in case.) Are there any locations on the east coast of FLorida where parts from parted out wrecks can be found? I hate to feed off another persons tragedy, but I can also see this as recycling. Plus, I'm cheap, and have an older boat that could benefit from from younger gear. k
Thanks,
Roger N

Re: Salvaged parts in Florida
Try Sailorman in Ft. Lauderdale. Amazing place. No nomex skivies required...but you could probably find used ones there.

Re: Salvaged parts in Florida
Oh mate, you are right in my wheelhouse!!
Sailorman Ft Lauderdale
Sailors Exchange, St Augustine
Marine Connections Ft Pierce....some used some new, but has a lot of manufacturers take offs and teak, starboard and sunbrella. Huge selection of electrical and plumbing and stainless...store is the size of two Walmart’s!!!
Nautical Nest Stuart FL....used and some crappy stuff, but just got a great anchor there for pennies on the dollar for our 52’ boat. Always has dinghys and outboards
Aquatech Marine Pickers Stuart FL....small but high quality stuff at bargain prices.
Do not hesitate to check out Craig’s List for South Florida and the treasure coast and the Keys......huge selection compared to the rest of the country. I know people making a good living selling marine parts on CL in South FL.
No shame in used and salvage...

Could check with Dennis at advantage yacht sales at Indiantown marina. He ends up with quite a bit of stuff and or gas leads.

Try Harbour Shoppers in the Virgin Islands. Heck, you can even get an entire wreck!

Re: Salvaged parts in Florida
I'm a bit amused at the many references to non-FL joints.
Here's the info on Don's:

Sailorman, Ft Lauderdale.
It would help if you told us the boat make, model and what you are seeking.

Re: Salvaged parts in Florida
Lots of parts, marine electronics, line, etc, on ebay. I've bought engine spares, electronics, etc.
