I agree with many about the choice of
boat.
Hunter 27 is nice for day sail coastal hopping and picnics, but not an ocean
boat.
For small ocean pocket boats think long encapsulated
keel with good ballast ration.
Think Contessa 26 or better still, 32. Think Halcyon 27. Nice compact cabins. Secure in a blow.
Short handed sailing is not really down to the size of the boat. It’s about the ease of handling. Ellen MacArthur had a huge
trimaran and was
single handed, so look at line management, number and size of winches and
deck organisation.
No idea about Red Sea - sorry!
