It's encouraging to know there's at least one person with smarts enough to know I'm not going to play this game. Whether on mooring number one or 100, how long one's boat is attached to a mooring is irrelevant provided the owner has a permit. Permit=right to exclude others, whether for one day or 30 years. Don't believe it? Try to get a mooring in San Diego...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

Well it appears "wrong" is in self preservation mode here and it would appear he is a squatter on one of those mooring buoys. I no longer interested in his mission to keep his residence (possible illegal residence) on a mooring buoy. I will support and encourage the fine folks of RB to terminate his current arrangement.

As such I will take the road that some here have taken and just ignore him.

This tread could be closed at anytime.

... and this is a decision that I respect. I recall a time when a member posted information that included my current location including the specific slip number where my boat was located at a named marina. I'm not a recluse, but this disturbed me. Some "off the grid" anonymity is an important factor that comes with full time cruising along with the independence and mobility of life aboard.
There is no reason for anyone to be obliged to present their location or their duration of stay at any place.

You're getting off to a lame start on this forum...

But, you've got lots of work to do before you're on par with ASD's inane lassitude.

So you're trying to derive some correlation between the number of posts on a website with sailing experience? Common sense tells me that some clown who brags about where he usually anchors and has amassed a high number of posts is spending more time talking about sailing instead of actually doing it. But hey, common sense is so over rated, isn't it.

If it were up to me, I would take the raccoon and get rid of all of the flotsam out there, dispose of the meth lab residue and take back the waterways for the real sailors.

Well, yes. Especially when a poster jumps into the middle of a thread without a clue concerning the subject matter. Can't miss the fact you didn't say anything about your sailing background and experience either. Neither has the number of your posts gone above 9, suggesting your participation in this forum is severely limited to an original effort to disrupt this thread.

Definitely. Especially the kind of "common sense" you claim to possess. Your first hand knowledge please of where I last sailed from and the destination? I'll let your "clown" comment pass, but you may want to familiarize yourself with forum rules before you spout your next insult. In case you failed to notice, this thread is in part about how the proliferation of unauthorized moorings in Richardson Bay has negatively impacted the ability of transient cruisers to find space in which to anchor. My anchoring experience may not seem relevant to you, but considering the limited "common sense" you claim to to have, it's no wonder you've missed the point. I suggest you read the thread from the top. Otherwise, relying on your "common sense" to make you look like anything but a fool is at minimum a risky endeavor.

Well, regarding your allegation meth labs exist in Richardson Bay. I'll take the claim with a grain of salt until such time as the police announce they've busted such an operation. As far as "taking back the waterways for the real sailors" is concerned, I doubt you'll be counted among them.

Wanted to update the group on photos taken on December 31, 2015 of the 80+ (and growing) number of squatter, abandoned and derelict 'boats' on Richardson Bay...a garbage dump

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

This 12/31/15 photo is particularly interesting in that this 'boat' [the larger of the two demasted derelict ones in the picture] has several straps stretching completely around the hull/deck in hopes that they will keep the hull together......a garbage dump of derelict boats...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

oops...this 12/31/15 photo is of one 'boat' [of the 80+ and growing] that drifted into and blocked the main Richardson Bay channel preventing boats including a barge from passing...a garbage dump of derelict boats.

These additional 2/31/15 photos show a couple more of the 80+ and growing number of Richardson Bay beauties...a garbage dump of derelict boats.

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

With these additional '12/31/15 vessels' added to the 80+ and growing other derelict or abandon ones, Richardson Bay would make a pretty big marina...but wait, Richardson Bay is supposed to be 'one of the most pristine estuaries on the Pacific Coast' ... a garbage dump of derelict boats...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

I'm sure this [12/31/15 photo of a] Richardson Bay 'boat' has its sewage tanks pumped out regularly given the sensitive nature of the estuary...don't know...your guess is as good as mine.
