Post Queensland Marina

Hi,
Won't name it, big marina between Rosslyn Bay and Airlie beach.
Steer clear if you don't like getting menaced by an aggressive terrier, abused by it's owner, then threatened by a group of long term permanent live-aboards when you report it.

Re: Queensland Marina

If you won't tell us what marina, of what use is your warning? And what do you mean when you say "threatened"? If literally true, it should be reported to the cops, for that constitutes assault.

Re: Queensland Marina

We can guess what marina you are talking about. More of a Marina management issue or if you feel threatened then as Jim has said complain to the Police.

Menaced by a terrier?
About the size of a big rat aren't they?

Sorry Jim I thought my description was narrow enough but I forgot Hamilton Island (and Laguna Quays, which I'm not sure counts anymore). It is south of Hamilton Island.
I did report the threats to the police; they phoned me hours later saying did I want them to come down and take me to the station to make a statement. As the situation had not escalated I said no.
I'm not sure reporting it was smart anyway as the marina manager said this morning that it was a police matter and nothing to do with them!
I only visit this marina twice a year on my way north and south for a week or so and don't contribute much to the coffers compared to the permanents.

With very sharp little teeth and since I usually have bare ankles and calves I don't really want them attached.

Reporting it to the marina was the right thing to do. I would have thought that their clients safety would have been everything to do with them.

Re: Queensland Marina

We always avoid that marina because I dislike giving up Easting. It's too far west of the beaten path!

In tropical Queensland it could have been a cockroach.

I do believe that Pit Bulls are part of the terrier family...
