phone for St Maarten and south?

We're currently on our boat in the BVI with a Digicel phone and mifi, and will be heading to St. Maarten probably on Sunday, weather permitting, planning to be there at least a couple of weeks, and then heading further south. We can put new SIM cards in our phone and mifi, but are looking for the cheapest way to get phone coverage to the US. We have a plan now that has 500 minutes, prepaid, for .10/minute, so it costs $50, a great deal. I've been online looking around for phone service in St. Maarten, but haven't come up with anything that looks wonderful, especially for just a couple of weeks. Any suggestions?
