The other factor is privacy.

I know if I were giving out my bank details to just anyone, I'd dedicate an account for that purpose and by default keep it empty.

That's the other key advantage to the non-banking services like Venmo, they know your details but shield them from all those unknown quantities you're transacting with remotely.

Bought my last vehicle using PayPal money, in fact have $20K line of credit with them now, six month no interest.

And they've never queried my credit rating, just based off my history with them and eBay.
