opinions on Porta La Cruze

We are enjoying a nice layover in Bonaire and are planning the next leg of our sailing adventure . We are thinking of going over to Los Roques for a while and then heading down to Porta La Cruze , Venezula , leaving the boat in a secure marina , doing some exploring and then laying the boat up in a boatyard in Porta la Cruze. Would appreciate all comments from only those cruisers that have recent first hand experience in cruising the Porta La Cruze area . Thank you
