Now living in Brisbane

I am looking at buying a catamaran and would like to live aboard in the Brisbane river as my son and his family live in Brizzie. Who do you contact and how do you go about getting a mooring. What are the costs? Thanks.

Re: Now living in Brisbane

I've got no desire to get caught up with the seeming chaos and selfishness of the pile moorings situation. In my opinion the governing body should step in and police and stop the misuse.

Does anyone have info of Dockside....I've notice a few issues on forums of busted fenders and hull damage due to speeding ferry wakes? I'm going to be around for 2 months or so.

Re: Now living in Brisbane

We are in Manly at the moment ( not live aboard) and plan to spend Christmas up near the botanical Garden most likely just on anchor. We stayed there before and love the spot. The Ferries stop around midnight so no real problem.
Might have to keep my eyes open for a 44ft Boden :-)
cheers

Re: Now living in Brisbane

@Reiner

We are on B 12 ST Drummer. Feel free to say hello. It's our first Christmas on board.
So far, everyone seems nice. Well, most anyway. Others don't talk much. I am moving the last of my gear into storage and will be a perm live aboard this Friday.
I saw online that in the USA so enterprising person has floating mini skips. I sure could do with one of those to throw out the junk from the last owner. Oh well, one tender trip at a time.
I have a car up there, so if you need a trip to any distant stores I can help out.
I am just fixing minor things one at a time. Toilet now works without sea cocks being turned on and off each time. They said it couldn't be done....
Not that we need to use it as there are private toilets there for the moorings. Was more of a challenge.

I will sniff arround and post which pylons are free. My understanding is you need to have a boat name ane your marine license given to the council for thier records. This is what happened to me anyway.
Regards
Terry
