Hello Syd, after we were out cruising for a few years we stayed at Cabrillo West Marina for many months until we were able to get a slip in our old marina in Long Beach. CWM was a nice place to be in many ways, new, nicely maintained, clean safe. Not much nearby though. And the afternoon winds (in the heart of hurricane alley) were challenging getting in and out of the slip. What boat do you have?

Channel Islands/Oxnard is nice too. More of a community surrounding the marinas and of course the islands are a wonderful destination. Enjoy.

Yes I'm visiting the harbor and all 3 islands then to Catalina Island then back to San pedro fact is I'm harbor hopping all the way up kings harbor marina del rey then channel island Oxnard
