New Home, New Noises?

Just relocated our baby to her new home at a 33' floating dock and there are some strange noises going on below the water line. Sounds like popcorn popping. Can lots of large barnacles do this??? Some friends said yes, but unsure. it is Really loud almost the point where its hard to sleep without ear plugs Our bottom is clean and she makes no noise away from the dock, other then the typical creaking etc lol I hope thats normal at least.

My guess is that it is probably shrimp making the racket. Get used to it.

Damaging? Only on your waist line if you eat to many

Re: New Home, New Noises?

Sure, lots of sounds and no damage! Not some special pistol shrimp, just the regulars...and you'll sure hear the Drum, Croakers and Grunts too. That's how these fish got their names! The biggest sounds will come when you bring a hull with barnacles from the north into a place like West Palm and have the Parrot Fish crack them open for a meal. It's a shame they don't remove the scale too!

Just wait until you get off shore and hear dolphins mating. It'll scare you the first time you hear them.
