I was paying rent for a place I did not want to live in and had to either endure someone elses terrible taste in furniture or buy a lot of furnishings I did not wish to buy or care to own.
I find the furniture aspect the best thing about about living aboard

Costs run about the same (thats with all taxes
plus West Marine
expenditures incl), downside is that on a cold miserable evening rather than "go below" you find yourself perusing Barnes and Noble's until closing.
