Re: Month 31 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat

I only ask because I was a little confused about your calculations of the percentages, if they were showing the percentage of what you spent or were they supposed the show the percentage of the overall expenditures versus what you were budgeting for. The final calculations of the percentage is what was throwing me off a little; (n20/$n$20) which will always be 100%, versus dividing the total expenses into what your planned budget ($3000 or $5000) per month.

It is just showing what that line is as percentage to total

Nothing in the spreadsheet has anything to do with budget. I know the budget and don’t need a spreadsheet to tell me the difference.

Hahaha, well . yeah, ok . . . catch your drift . . maybe you DON'T deserve!!?? . . . anyway, if you come up north of Tampa a bit, you'll find us where the manatees like to winter (as you read earlier) but by the time you get here, most of them will be gone other than the resident locals (they're like illegals - they never leave). . . . advise us your ports of call so we can make plans.

Re: Month 31 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat

Half way through the month and nothing has broken, so we are well under budget. May have to dig our my long pants and collared shirt and go to a real dinner place :-)

Sitting here in Ft Myers Beach and the overall feeling of the place is soooooooooo different than Marathon.

BTW - that long pants things isn't going to happen

Marathon, while serving a purpose for us a year ago, is basically a trailer park on the water. Certainly more so now that most cruisers have long departed and it is just the liveaboards remaining that are on non-functioning boats.

We much prefer Ft. Myers Beach.
