Boy, that thief you recently ran off dodged a bullet, didn't get stuck with that heap.
Seriously, this sucks, apologies.

sailorboy1, I saw that the other day! NPB right? Were you here today for that big blow? I saw 47 kts at one point and not sure if that was the highest.

I think you are right next to me as there's only 1 Moody 425 here

But you knew the anchor was well set and there was already enough room. Is it really because I haven't showered today?

Month 30 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat
I wanted to have more chain out, which would have put us on you if/when the wind changed. I misread my depth when we first anchored. And yes, it was also that horrible smell!
I was at 3 to 1 scope!!!!!! But it held with 45+ kts yesterday!

Now I feel lucky I didn’t get a up close meeting with your boat. I have 5:1 out and don’t expect harder test than yesterday.

Re: Month 30 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat
As a new lurker / researcher I will use my first post to say thank you SB for the detail and diligence. I have read many of your posts already and have learned from them. Thank you for taking time out of your day to post up real world experience as there are so many forums where the armchair quarterbacks give advice never leaving the comfort of their living room. Yours is real world experience.
Thank you

Re: Month 30 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat
There are of course 30 budget threads.
Meanwhile there was a pretty scarcely storm here the other day with 55+ mph winds that tossed us around like the insignificant water gnat we are. I saw my brNd new dinghy go flying sideways during it. Next day my outboard wouldn’t start and that took 2 days to get going.
So after we bust the budget with 2 beers each at the brewery an$ ribeye steaks, baked potato, asparagus, and wine on the boat.
It’s a good life overall here on SV rubber ducky!
