Month 18 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat

Got out of Boot Key/Marathon Florida and traveled north to New Smyrna Florida. Joke was on me because it is still cold in Florida other than the keys, but we just needed to move on.

We had transportation costs of a car rental for a week to go to my Mother-In-law’s 80th birthday. We also rented a car 1 day on the way north to go see my 93 year old Aunt. There were some taxi rides involved in going to the car rental place and to get groceries while in Boot Key.

We of course dined out at numerous Happy Hours and at breweries along the path as well as just few restaurants, plus of course anytime you go on the road for a week there's dining out involved.

Got the boat bottom cleaned and got some spares. Did small boat projects and upgrades to make living on the boat nicer. Had some expenses related to selling my extra autopilot drive on E-Bay from last month.

The total expenses were $3,497.02. Cost breakdown as follows for those of you planners and hecklers:

Food, soda, alcohol, clothing, sundries, and "stuff" - $ 953.39
Boat upgrades, repairs, maintenance - $ 554.17
Fuel (diesel, gas, propane) - $ 125.61
Dining out - $ 686.95
Entertainment - $ 171.41
Communication, storage, shipping - $ 82.55
Fees – $ -38.73
Marina - $ 348.30
Electric - $ 0
Medical - $ 20.19
Transportation - $ 392
Gifts - $ 186.18
Water - $ 15
Insurance - $ 0

Well this month month they included
Bottom cleaning -$90
Spare macerator pump - $80
Fee to sell my auto pilot - $84
A little o-zone generator - $70
Extra engine oil - $30
Anti freeze - $15
Bathroom shelf - $12

There other small item but I don’t write them down so sometimes a credit card charge to a vendor that had mixed use items all gets credited to a single category

Thanks, SB. I've been following your thread since the beginning, and it's tremendously helpful. Im only about a year from following in your footsteps, so much appreciated. Im anxiously awaiting the 24 month mark, to see two year totals and average breakdowns.
So far, it's doable!
