Month 14 Expenses of Cruising and Living on the Boat

Still in a slip in Brunswick GA and am just going to stay here till after Thanksgiving now. The lesson I learned is that when you are going to be in a slip a while that you should do your doctor appointments earlier, so you have time to be run through the testing system.
The boat was the big expense category this month again. Got sails repaired, bottom cleaned, and the other $500 was the small stuff that people donít seem to keep track of like buying spares, cleaners etc.

Didnít think we dined out all the much, but it added up to a lot. A lot of the dining out is due to having to go out of town for medical appointments.

Transportation was car rental for doctor trips and gas.
Medical costs were a trip to the dentist, monthly medical insurance cost, doctor visit copays, testing copays, and a motel stay to go to the doctor. Of course, over half the transportation and big hulk of dining is medical related.

Communication is all in cell phone costs.

Entertainment was going to a movie, a yearly Time Share expensive, and a month of CBS on line.

Marina cost is for a month of dockage and electric (broke out the costs).

The total was $4,098.90. Cost breakdown as follows:

Food, soda, alcohol, clothing, sundries - $ 828.41
Boat upgrades, repairs, maintenance - $ 1,121.01
Fuel (diesel, gas, propane) - $ 0
Dining out - $ 662.40
Entertainment - $ 163.42
Communication, storage, shipping - $ 153.50
Fees Ė $ 56.25
Marina - $ 584.29
Electric - $ 97.06
Medical - $ 174.32
Transportation - $ 188.18
Gifts - $ 0

Don't ya hate all the Dr related hoops and expenses. Staying till after thanksgiving sounds like a good idea ( for the family things) . An extra week won't really change costs all that much (considering you already paid for the month there at the dock) . Enjoy the turkey day festivities.

Well since I'm going over to me daughters place (the house I just bought and am renting to her cheap) I'm sure I will end up buying the food AND cooking it.

Some data a different cruising area - From the other side of the pond in southern Portugal - just hired a car for a couple of weeks at about a Euro a day, decent bottle of wine 3-4E, menu del dia in a local cafe 4/5E. Nearly always sunny & locals so warm and friendly. Hard to leave
