Massachusetts Liveaboard Marinas

Hi (newbie here), I am doing my due diligence for the liveaboard lifestyle. Unfortunately, I am tied to my job in Boston. So I am limited in the fact that I can't really go anywhere outside Massachusetts to pursue this (for now!). So, just a simple question: Does anyone know first (or second) hand of marinas near Boston that allow liveaboards? I already know of Constitution Marina, Boston Harbor Shipyard, and Charlestown Marina. Does anyone know of any other marinas/YCs other than those? I appreciate any insight! Thank you! - Jon

The big problem in Boston harbor is the ever present swell. Constitution is far enough around the corner that you won't roll. Has a vibrant liveaboard community - even in winter.

Hi Jon!

There's a little space at Yachthaven on Commercial Wharf (At least I think it's Commercial). There's a Freedom 36 tied up there all winter. No roll in there.

Winthrop is a popular place from what I've heard. Never been.

Depending on what you draw, and whether you mind a commute to Boston, you might look into Captain's Cove in Quincy. It used to be a place you could live aboard year round.

Thank you for the info. I did looked into Yacht Haven, $300+/ft...woof! Seems like Charlestown is the best bang for your buck.

Yeah, I recall it being really expensive.
