pirate Looking for the perfect place to be a pirate :)

Where on this earth did you get most bang for the buck + beautiful place ?

Yes we are looking for the perfect spot to be pirates

Nice sailing , cheap moorings / stay, nice people and just enjoy a more simple life style...

We do looking for the perfekt spot to keep the boat, where we can visit the place for ½ year, and fly home ½ year (Denmark) and return again the spot again perhaps later when kids grow up we are free to do it "all time"....

Happy days!

Yes if we had some more sunshine here, it was a good place alot of sailing places, and not pricey to keep a boat...

Alaska is about as good as it gets for five months. Catch your meals, enjoy midnight sun, scenery to die for everywhere, exotic animals swimming and walking around you, no crowds, just anchor for free and live off the fruit of the land. Not much to pillage as a pirate, but living is easy. The state even pays me to be here.

It would have to be somewhere in South East Asia, probably Langkawi, given its duty free status. Looking around at the expats from around the world that call this place home for most of the year, this is it...

You'll have to decide (& tell us) what kind of climate, & shore based support/amenities you're thinking of. As one man's simple is another's "Big City", & vice versa.
Ditto on how much you desire to be able to harbor hop, even if you choose not to do so. Plus, what, if any, culture & language barriers you're up for dealing with. And how often your boat needs complex parts, meaning ones of the sort which can't be had locally.

I would suggest Baltimore, Republic of Ireland: it has a long history of piracy. The O'Driscoll were famous in their time. By the way, their castle has been rebuilt.
