Lockset for sliding door

Does anyone have any experience with locks for sliding doors ? I am missing one of my keys, and would like to replace the locking mechanism on my sliding door. I see locks online, but they seem not to be the right size.

My current lock has full sized keys and 4 7/8 inches between the mounting bolts. Surely this can't be that unusual of an item. Does anyone have experience with these things ?

I'm amazed you need to lock a sliding door on a boat! Anybody bad wanting to get in will use a maul or an axe to get in.

Actually, though, it may be easier in the long run to hire a locksmith to make you a couple of keys for the existing lock.

Otherwise, look at the WM or Defender catalog, and see if they have any with the right spacing or check out a hardware store or two.
